This just in, Master P is nearing the official announcement of his upcoming biopic, King Of The South: Ice Cream Man. P tells DX exclusively that the project is expected to hit theaters nationwide in 2017 and will focus on his life from age 5 to juuuuuust after the release of his first platinum selling record, Ice Cream Man.
P’s tight lipped on which studio will release the film, but he does tell us that he was inspired after seeing N.W.A’s Straight Outta Compton. The film will touch on his decision to pass on a $1 million offer from Jimmy Iovine early in his career when he only had $500 dollars in his pocket, the inspiration he received from Rap-a-Lot CEO J. Prince, as well as way back when Birdman asked him to purchase Cash Money Records. We’re getting amped already.
